“¿Con Que Pagaremos?” is one of the most beautiful
songs that has
touched me over the years during my personal
devotions. It’s a
song of meditation, and I enjoy hearing it mostly as
sung by
the Christian artist Fernando Ortega. Funny thing,
when I go
to type out the title I can never find the ‘upside
down ?’
mark that is used at the beginning of the title of the
song.
This is because it’s written in the foreign language
of
Spanish. In other words, I need to be able to type
another
language into my keyboard so that I can spell it out
correctly.
This leads me to my point of this month’s challenge. .
. over the next month I believe
that the Lord wants to ‘type another language into our
keyboard’ so that we can spell
out an important issue correctly in our lives, that
issue is “Temptation-the Good, the
Bad & the Ugly.”
As you consider this topic, reflect on this. . .
through regeneration, the son of God is
formed in us (Gal. 4:19), and in our physical life
does Jesus have the same supremacy
that He had when He walked the very earth that we now
walk on? If we remember, Jesus
himself was tempted by Satan in the same manner that
we are still tempted today. As
people born again by the Spirit of God, we can begin
to see that temptations from Satan
do not just tempt us to do wrong things — he actually
tempts us to make us lose what God
has put into us through regeneration, namely, the
possibility of being of value to God.
This type of temptation is actually a test of the
possessions held within the inner,
spiritual part of our very being by a power outside of
us and foreign to us. Thus the
reason why we should be willing to let the Lord ‘type
another language into our internal
keyboard’ so that we can spell it out correctly when
faced with a temptation that might
just be foreign to us.
If this has perked your interest, then I look forward
to seeing you in our worship
services over the month of October. Get ready to be
equipped, encouraged and excited
about what God has planned for you and through you!
“For I know the plans I have for
you,” declares the Lord, “plans to propser you and not
to harm you, plans
to give you hope for a future.” (Jer 29:11).
May God bless and keep you,
Pastor
