Youth News!

Hello Exciting Eastsiders,

September has been the largest growth I have seen for the student ministry at this church or any other where I

have served. With the start of the I-Pad Evangelism Challenge (IEC) the students have responded in a big way. We

have seen 16 visitors in a little over three weeks of the IEC. Not only have they been bringing friends but also they

are getting involved around the church. Students have turned in IEC score cards for singing in choir, playing instruments

in orchestra, working in the media booth and ministering at children’s church.

We have 14 students that are on the score board and 5 are tied for first place at 3 points each. They are Christina

in 9th grade, Jayde in 11th grade, Derrick in 6th grade, Steven in 6th grade, and Bryan in 11th grade. As you can see the

IEC is becoming popular with each age group of the youth department. We are now adding bonus points for scripture

memorization too!

The new youth praise band has become another blessing in the youth department. Eric Crosby is our singer/song

writer/lead guitar player. He has formed a praise band with Jasper Wells on drums and Josh Dibble on bass. They

have Kaylee and Jayde on backup vocals. It has become a big draw for our student ministry having live worship

music that reaches them with a solid gospel message.

Things to come: We are planning to invade Plant City High School’s Tailgate Party on Oct. 1st at 5:00 PM! We

will be hanging out with our students before and during the football game that Friday night. We will also be helping

out with a booth at our “Trunk-Or-Treat” on Oct. 31 at 5:00 PM.

We have also incorporated a small group time in each youth service for the students to share prayer request and

praise reports and discuss the message on a personal and age appropriate level. The groups are split High School

boys, High School girls, Middle School boys, and Middle School girls. The students are responding to this new format

with awesome reviews. The groups are lead by Terri Boback, Ronda Wells, Krista Crosby, Laura Newsom,

Shannon All, and myself. All and all God is moving in a mighty way in the youth ministry and we are thankful for all

your prayers and support.

Thank you all for your support for the youth led service on September 26th! We were overwhelmed by the turnout

and praise offered to the Lord during our service!
